Minotaure Magazines, Albert Skira 1933-39

Minotaur Magazines Condition Report

Of the 13 issues published by Albert Skira between 1933 and 1939, here are 9 total contained in 8 magazines. No. 12-13 being a double volume. There is a short description of each followed by pictures. Of the 8 magazines, the cover remains attached to only No. 5. I believe the reason so many of the covers are loose is just that the old glue dried out and let go. The covers themselves are all present and for the most part in good shape. 5 are still attached by their spines and 2 are detached. There is of course some soiling, scuffing, tattering and the odd stain. The interior pages are quite clean and have very little yellowing or foxing for their age. There are quite a few small art pieces that were meant to be taken out and framed.

No. 1
The cover is loose from the interior pages. Spine attaches front and back boards but is tattered at the top and bottom. Interior pages are still bound together, all pages present. Interior pages are in very good shape. The following pictures are of issue No. 1.

No. 9

The cover is loose from the interior pages. Spine attaches front and back boards and is only slightly tattered at the top. This cover perhaps because of the lack of color, shows much more soiling and yellowing. Interior pages are still bound together, all pages present. Interior pages are in very good shape. This issue also seems to include the most of the detachable for framing pieces. The following pictures are of issue No. 9.

No. 10

The cover is loose from the interior pages. Spine attaches front and back boards and is slightly tattered. Interior pages are still bound together, all pages present. Interior pages are in very good shape. The following pictures are of issue No. 10.

No. 12-13

The cover is loose from the interior pages. Front and back boards are detached from the spine. Interior pages are still bound together, though most loosely of the lot in this one. All pages are present and are in very good shape. This is the double issue, so surprisingly there is not only a second cover inside but also a second backpage. Both are pictured. This issue also contains quite a few of the removable pieces. The following pictures are of issue No. 12-13.
